26–28 March 2010.

National Youth Science Forum (NYSF)
Chairperson: Kevin Trent

Siemens Science Experience (SSE)
Contact: Kevin Trent
The SSE is for Year 9 students who are selected to attend a three-day school at various Australian university campuses. Most Western Australian Universities are involved with this program, which gives students an insight into what they might expect if they choose a scientific or technology career.

SSE is held 15–17 and 19–21 January 2010.

Interact
Chairperson: Shayne Sherman
Interact provides an opportunity for Rotarians to mentor community minded people between 14–18 years of age, in a structured environment, in business and project management and world community service. Interactors work together in a local club to achieve goals they set for their school, their local community and internationally. It is an excellent source of participants for RYPEN and other youth programs. Interact also provides a pathway to Rotaract.

Rotaract
Chairperson: Shayne Sherman
Rotaract provides an opportunity for young people between the ages of 18–30 to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their community and promote better relations between people worldwide through a frame work of service and friendship. It is an excellent source of participants and leaders for RYLA. Rotaract also provides a pathway to Rotary. For further information on Rotaract in District 9470 go to: www.rotaract9470.org

Community Welfare
Chairman: Erwin Biemel
District 9470 complies with the Working with Children (Criminal Record Checking) Act 2004 under WA Law and also adheres to RI Code of Policies for Youth Protection. The working with children manual and forms are available on the publications page.

Youth Exchange Program (YEP)

Short Term Exchange Program (STEP)

Short Term Exchanges may vary in length from several days to several weeks and are available for qualified students aged from 15–18 and are normally reciprocal. Although participants on a short-term exchange do not necessarily attend school in their host country, they may be able to tailor an exchange to suit their interests. Unless a student is proficient in a foreign language due to the shortness of the exchange, travel will normally be to an English speaking country.

Rotary Youth Driving Awareness (RYDA)
Co-ordinator: Rod Style
The Program targets awareness and attitudinal change and seeks to encourage young people, year 11 students, who are on the verge of driving or at least who are actively thinking about it, to take a more responsible attitude to motoring.
